I realize I never post in Xanga anymore...partly out of lack of time thanks to law school, law review, and other stuff and partly because I am just too apathetic most of the time. Here is an interesting question: How does a Yankee from New York end up in Alabama? If anyone is reading this and thinking somewhere in the back of their mind that this scenario sounds vaguely familiar but you just can't place it, it's probably because you are trying to recall the details from the movie My Cousin Vinnie. However, you would be surprised to find out that I am actually describing the situation I will be in come August after the bar exam. I will be a judicial clerk for Justice See on the Supreme Court of Alabama, and I am still trying to figure out how in the world I am going to survive down in Montgomery, Alabama. To be continued in a few more months, if I ever do post here again that soon!

Two months in Europe, but now back in the States...God bless the U.S.A., the greatest country on Earth!

Okay, this is the second time I have become ill around finals time during law school. Thankfully, this cold is nowhere near as terrible as the cold I had during 1L first semester finals, where I could barely breath because I was so congested. Nevertheless, next week will be hell on earth since I have two four hour finals, Evidence and Business Associations, back-to-back on Wednsday and Thursday. Lord have mercy!!

Interestingly enough, I will be on the 700 club next Tuesday.

Here are the results from the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition. This is probably the biggest moot court tournament in the country, drawing 150 teams that are broken down into 5 individual regions of around 30 teams. The top 4 teams from each region advance to Chicago, Illinois for the National Tournament. Here are the results from the Southeast Region in which Regent competed.

Regent sent two teams, both are regional champions.
The team I was on won 3rd place for best brief.
The other team won 4th place for best brief.
The two oralists from the other team, Danielle and Andrew, won 2nd and 3rd respectively for best oralist.
I won 7th for best oralist.

Regent, at the most, could have won a total of 8 awards...we ended up taking home 7. We are going to Chicago!!!
